The traditional Dominican Republic Mamajuana drink, or "Mama Juana", is a blend of exotic tree stems, barks, herbs, and spices typically originally brewed as a tea. Mamajuana has a long history dating back over 800 years. It was discovered by the Taino Indians, who inhabited the Caribbean even before the time of Christopher Columbus.
Today, Mamajuana or "Mama Juana" is a traditional botanical rum liqueur used in the Dominican Republic. The local residents refer to Mamajuana as "Baby Maker" or "Vitality in a Bottle ." Mamajuana Tea has a unique, woodsy, Manzanilla, Cinnamon and Anis flavor. Mamajuana from the Dominican Republic is said to quickly energize and vitalize both men and women.
